I agreed to take Lani to a Prom in Cruces. I was supposed to pick her up at 7. I was leaving to go pick her up when I realized I did not have a corsage for her. There is a florist shop just a few buildings down and I can see the open sign lit up. By the time I get there it is closed. I decided to go to a grocery store to get one. I pull up to Peppers and head to the florist section. They had several corsages already made. But they had huge open roses; they offered to make me one if I wanted. I asked them to go ahead and make one with buds, because Lani was small and these ones would look funny.
So while I am waiting I turn around and Rusty is standing there reading a paper. He starts talking to me about things. I have a hard time talking to him because he doesn’t know he is dead and we are not suppose to tell him so he doesn’t freak out. So we are talking when he says your feet are huge, you must be pregnant. I told him no, but that I was getting married and that Adriana’s feet were big so she was pregnant.
The florist tells me she is ready. I turn back to tell Rusty bye, but he is gone. I get the flowers and get in my car. I am really late so I call Lani to ask where I was suppose to pick her up at her house or her mothers restaurant, I act like I have been driving around looking for her.
